It was a night of joy, surprises and unlimited fun on Thursday as the Kigali Marriott Hotel hosted different customers at a cocktail event as the Global Customer Appreciation Week by all Marriott Hotels around the globe nearly came to an end. During the course of the week that started on Monday 4 and ending today Friday 5, a number of the hotel’s clients including banks, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and Tour companies among others were visited by the hotel’s staff and appreciated for the continued support and also listened to their feedback as they continue working on improving in the aspects that make their customers feel more homey. At the event that was attended by various guests both local and international in the private and public sector, the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing Victoria N. Obiakor noted that the appreciation week is a chance for the hotel to show its gratitude to its clients who have supported it over the years. ‘The hotel would be no more if it wasn’t for your support and we are very grateful. This is our way of saying thank you for always supporting us day in, day out and I want to let all of you how valuable you are to us and your support is very crucial to our hotel’’ she noted There was lots of eats and drinks as well as a live performance from the Symphony Band and a number of people who turned up for the event were able to win themselves amazing prizes from the hotel together with some of its partners. The lucky winners won hotel stays in Kigali Marriott Hotel, Accra Marriott, Sankara Hotel by Autograph Collection in Nairobi and Sheraton Nairobi Airport, spa treatments as well as the grand winners won a stay in Magashi Camp by Thousand Hills Africa and finally a trip for two to any destination in the world courtesy of Qatar Airways combined with a hotel stay at a Marriott in Doha. Diana Uwamahoro who is the Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of Eco Bank Rwanda was able to win herself a trip for two to anywhere on the globe and the hotel stay in Doha and she expressed her joy because it is something she never expected. ‘’Like you all saw, we were requested to drop our business cards in the glass container and I was randomly picked to go to a destination of my choice where Qatar Airways operates. I am really happy and excited to know where my destination will be as I am yet to decide,’’ she excitedly said to The New Times after the event. Global Customer Appreciation Week is a global activity done by all Marriott International properties, and in Kigali this has been done since 2016 after the opening of the hotel.
