Benjamin Mugisha, aka The Ben (pictured), has continued to raise the Rwandan flag high, by representing the country on the international music scene. After dropping hit after hit, and gracing international stages, the R&B crooner is set to represent the Rwanda at One Africa Music Fest, a concert that brings together different big names in the music industry throughout Africa. The festival, to be held in Dubai, is one of the five projects of One Africa Global, designed to promote the understanding of Africa’s uniqueness to the world through music, sensitisation, and global events on Africa, visual arts and partnerships. Launched in 2016, One Africa Music Fest has enjoyed a lot of success having traversed some of the famous cities in the world which include London and New York. The Ben is still the only Rwandan artiste that has been invited to participate at the high-level event. Having been one of the few artistes from Africa to participate in the last edition of the same event held in New York, USA, The Ben is again going to share the stage with big names such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platinumz, Harmonise, and Eddy Kenzo, who have been under the same music label Wasafi Records, Betty J, Lij Micheal, Nandy, Nhatty Man, Souhila, Teni nd 2Face Idiabia, and it is not by surprise that the list is dominated by Nigerians. The show, that is usually hosted by Nigerian music star Banky W, is held on different continents all over the world, and come November 15, the Festival Arena in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai will host this glamorous event. The Ben has enjoyed great success back home and abroad, with a number of his songs, such as “Fine Girl”, “Naremeye”, “Ndaje”, as well as his latest “Vazi”. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
