Bugesera FC head coach Francis Haringingo has vowed to build a stronger team ready to give a challenge to any opponent next season after escaping relegation on the final day of the just-concluded Primus National League campaign.
The orange side was on the brink of relegation until they defeated Etoile de l'Est 3-0 on their home ground, Ngoma Stadium, to stay top division. The latter’s loss saw them drop to the second division.

"One thing I’m certain about, everybody will know what a good team we can be– not just in participating, we also want to win the trophies next season,” Haringingo told Times Sport.
"So we are very proud of the achievement of last season. The aim, going forward, is to have a competitive team which is capable of winning trophies,” he added.
Bugesera FC reached the final of the Peace Cup before losing the trophy to eventual winners Police FC.
Haringingo said it was a good achievement for his team but he insists he wants more as long as they had a chance to stay in the topflight league.

"I am happy that we stayed at the top division but I believe we could have done better than winning at the last game. Nonetheless, it is not bad to stay up and play the final of the Peace Cup. I am confident next season Bugesera shall have a stronger team (than last season).”
The Burundian gaffer is in talks with Bugesera to extend his contract, he took over from Eric Nshimiyimana who was sacked on November 14, due to a string of poor results in the Primus National League.
