Friendly September 18 DR Congo Vs Rwanda 2020 CHAN Qualifier September 22 Ethiopia Vs Rwanda Rwanda coach Vincent Mashami has dropped three players ahead of the upcoming friendly game against DR Congo and the African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifier against Ethiopia. The dropped players are Janvier Benedata (AS Kigali), Eric Ngendahimana (Police), and Kevin Hakizimana (Police). The Amavubi squad, which comprises only home-based players, will play DR Congo in a friendly match on September 18, at the Stade de Martyrs in Kinshasa, four days before taking on Ethiopia. “The players are in good physical and mental condition and I have confidence they will give a decent account of themselves,” Mashami told Times Sport on Monday. On Monday, the team held a light training session at Amahoro Stadium before heading to Kinshasa. The Amavubi will train on Tuesday at Stade des Martyrs ahead of Wednesday’s friendly tie. The friendly match, only the fourth meeting between Rwanda and DR Congo in 15 years, will be Amavubi’s last warm-up before the team flies to Addis on September 19. Rwanda lead head-to-head record 2-1. While Rwanda gears up for the double-header against Ethiopia for a ticket to the CHAN 2020, DR Congo will be up against the Central African Republic on a similar mission.
