Former Gisagara and national team left-attacker Willcliffe Dusengimana on Monday left the country to join his new Egyptian volleyball league side Canal SC. Dusengimana has established himself as one of the best spikers in local volleyball, over the last two years. While talking to Times Sport on Monday, Dusengimana said “I look forward to meeting my new teammates, and working hard to help the team succeed. I am happy to join a professional team because it has been an amazing two-years in Gisagara.” Dusengimana started his career after graduating from High school in 2016 and was drafted in by former champions APR. He inspired the club to the 2017 Genocide Memorial Tournament (GMT) title after beating Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in the final. Last year, Dusengimana turned down contract-extension talks with APR and offers from other top clubs to join then reigning champions Gisagara. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
