Topflight side Gorilla FC have parted ways with Nigerian striker Johnson Adeaga Adeshola after four years at the club. Adeaga joined Gorilla FC from Nigerian Premier League side Nasarawa United on July 1, 2020 on an initial two-year deal before extending his stay for another two years in 2022. The forward established himself as a key player at the club and he played a key role to club’s relegation survival on three different occasions. Times Sport understands that coach Ivan Minnaert who is expected to sign a permanent contract with Gorilla FC but the Belgian is not keen on keeping Adeaga as he looks to bring in a more prolific attacker ahead of next season. ALSO READ: Gorilla FC appoint Minnaert as Gatera’s successor Adeaga's contract was not renewed at Gorilla and he has left for Nigeria with his agent hoping to get him a new club when the transfer window opens in Rwanda on July 1. Aside Adeaga is among five players released by Gorilla FC. Others include striker Babatunde Iroko, Omar Rwabugiri, Yves Mugisha and Arnold Matumele. Gorilla finished the season in 10th position with 35 points from 30 games.
