Upendo choir will on Sunday, September 15, launch an album, the first since the year 2000 when they came into existence. The album is made of eight audio songs and is named after Upendo’s famous song ‘wa mwenda’ (that veil). Bethesda Holy Church, Gisozi, will host the concert that will start at 2:30 p.m. Six ministries will perform at the event, namely; True Promises, Alarm Ministries, Gisubizo, and Kingdom of God Ministries among others. Speaking to The New Times, Upendo’s choirmaster, Jacques Bihozagara said that everything is set for their debut album launch. “We’re currently doing our final rehearsals, and I can say that everything is in place for a good concert,” he said. True Promises. / Courtesy Jacques added that people coming to the concert won’t regret doing so. He noted:” All songs on this album do not only sound good but also hold a message. We chose to spread good news using songs, therefore people coming will not go back the same.” Responding to why they are releasing the first album after 19 years, Jacques echoed that it is the right time to do so.
