UK based worship team, Hillsong London, will for the first time perform live in Kigali, on December 6, at a venue yet to be confirmed. The event is being organized by Rwanda Events Group, a local events company, which said the concert, dubbed ‘Hillsong London Live in Kigali’, is expected to attract gospel music lovers from all over the region and will also feature local gospel acts. According to the organizers, the team will be backed by their own band from London and are expected to take their fans through a number of their well celebrated gospel songs like Till I see You, Lord of all, Follow the Son and Center of my life, among others. The worship band will be expected in the country on December 4, a few days to the concert where they will be carrying out charity activities prior to the concert. Hillsong London joins a number of several other celebrated gospel singers that have previously performed in Kigali like Don Moen, Pompi, Mag44, Sinach, AlikaMbuba, among others. The team is affiliated to Hillsong United worship band that originated as a part of Hillsong Church, based in Sydney Australia. It has over the years been committed to creating a musical expression in its uniqueness and writing songs that awaken churches and individuals into God’s calling. Hillsong Church, one of the largest evangelical Christian churches in the world was founded by Brian Houston in Sydney, Australia, in 1983. It has now grown from a single church to an international ministry that has churches in 21 countries on six continents, including London, England; Paris, France; Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Cape Town, South Africa; Tel Aviv, Israel; and three cities in the United States. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
