Fourteen local teams have confirmed they will take part in the 7th edition of the annual Taekwondo Ambassador’s Cup slated on September 6-8 at Amahoro Stadium. The Secretary General of Rwanda Taekwondo Federation, Boniface Mbonigaba, confirmed the development to Times Sport. The tournament is sponsored by the Korean Embassy in Kigali, and organised by the Rwanda Taekwondo Federation. The three-day tournament is also expected to attract teams from DR Congo, Kenya, Uganda and eSwatini (formerly Swaziland). Korean Embassy sponsored the tournament at the tune of Rwf5 million and we hope to have a great tournament, he said. Korean Ambassador’s Cup is one of the events that Rwanda Taekwondo Federation hosts annually, with the first edition having taken place in 2013. This year’s tournament is expected to attract about 250 participants (juniors, seniors, Para-Taekwondo) Kigali’s Dream Fighters Taekwondo Club are the holders.
