Semi-finals Wednesday Kenya vs Rwanda Uganda vs Burundi The National U-15 football team, the Junior Wasps will face champions Kenya in the semi-final of the 2019 CECAFA U-15 Challenge Cup on Wednesday at Asmara National Stadium in Eritrea. Yves Rwasamanzi’s team lost to Uganda 3-0 in the final Group B match played on Sunday and finished in second place in Group B behind Uganda who will face Burundi who finished in second place in Group A. “Our Cecafa journey has been good so far and considering the amount of effort that everyone has put in over the last two weeks - it is fitting that we are in the semifinal,” Rwasamanzi said Coach Rwasamanzi who fielded a second string side finished the group stage ranked second with nine points having won three matches and lost once. “Since our opening day victory over the hosts South Sudan, the players have grown in confidence game by game and are developing a never-say-die approach and giving everything they have until the final whistle,” “I expect nothing less than 100% from each player again tomorrow against Kenya so that we can reach the final and I believe they can beat any team in the tournament,” he added The winners will proceed to the final slated for Friday, August 30 which will be graced by the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad. The Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup, the first of its kind in Africa has been funded by FIFA.
