RWANDA’s Under-15 football team will be looking to their extend their winning streak to three victories when they face Tanzania Friday afternoon at the ongoing CECAFA U15 Challenge in Eritrea. The Youth Wasps’ side are unbeaten – and yet to concede a goal – after two games in Group B, having beaten South Sudan and Ethiopia in identical 3-0 wins last Saturday and this Wednesday, respectively. Head coach Yves Rwasamanzi has hailed his youngsters for the job well-done against Ethiopia but also urged them to remain grounded ahead of their remaining fixtures against Tanzania, today, and Uganda, on Sunday. “We need to double our efforts against Tanzania,” Rwasamanzi challenged his boys after dominating Ethiopia on Wednesday. “This is a must-win game, we can’t make any mistake.” With two emphatic victories in the bag, Rwanda tops Group B and a win against Tanzania will edge them an inch closer to the semi-finals. Uganda are second, also with 6 points. “After back to back wins, the boys’ confidence has significantly surged. They have no fear to face anyone in the tournament. We know Tanzania are equally a strong team, so we have to be lethal in the attack and avoid mistakes in the defence,” added Rwasamanzi. The top two teams from each group will automatically qualify to the semis, set to be played on August 28, while the final is scheduled for August 30 in the Eritrean capital, Asmara.
