The new 2019/2020 English Premier League season will not only bring fans cheering, it has already set off a global betting frenzy with more people hoping to become lucky in the multi-billion dollar industry. As part of their corporate social responsibility, this past weekend, the betting company organized Premier Bet Football Cup’, at Cercle Sportif with six community teams; Rubilizi FC, Gikondo FC, District Police Unit FC Nyarugenge, Miracle FC, and Winners FC participating in the competition which attracted hundreds of fans. Over role, Winners FC clinched the title and was rewarded with cash prize of Rwf300,000, District Police Unit FC which finished as runner-up received Rwf150,000. Celebrated local musician Jay Polly got the fans on their feet when he entertained the audience by rhyming some of his best songs. The fun day was concluded by an English Premier League game between Tottenham and Aston Villa which was projected for the spectators. Tottenham won 3-1. Fans received goodies including company customers playing balls. Meanwhile, in the last two weeks, Premier Bet organised a seminar in partnership with Rwanda National Police, intended at creating positive impact in community especially among the youth to avoid crime. For the last six year, the company has maintained a strict policy where only those aged above 18-years can be allowed in staking their bets. By using sports, the CEO thinks communities can come together and for the youth it is a way of encouraging and bringing them together so that they can be kept away from trouble and crime.
