Al Hilal head coach Salah Mohamed Adam has warned his team that any defensive lapses will be severely punished by Rayon Sports when the two sides clash in a Caf Champions league match on Sunday at Kigali Stadium. Adam said he is aware of Rayon’s quick counter attacks and that he is designing a way of countering that but also added that his scouting had showed that Rayon Sports concedes many goals, something he promised his team intend to capitalise on. “They are very dangerous especially in attack and we have to defend well to cut those attacks. They generally play quick passing football. However I noted they are not very solid defensively and that’s a weakness we will have to capitalise on,” he noted Rayon Sports strikers like Burundian Jules Ulimwengu and Ghanaian Michel Sarpong who scored 20 and 16 goals each last season will be the club’s main threat as they target to get an edge for the return leg slated for later this month. Al Hilal arrived in Kigali on Wednesday and are residing at Orient Park Hotel in Nyarutarama. The Sudanese giants Al Hilal have been training at Mumena Stadium in Nyamirambo. Meanwhile, on Saturday, AS Kigali will host KMC of Tanzania in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup at Kigali Stadium. Both Rayon Sports and AS Kigali need to win their respective ties and avoid conceding goals in their first leg matches to have a chance of progressing to the next round which will both play away. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
