Vision FC and Espoir FC will square off in the opening match of FERWAFA Second Division mini-league playoffs at Mumena Stadium on May 22. The two teams found themselves paired to play the opening match of the playoffs whose fixtures were released on Thursday, May 16. The playoffs will bring together four teams including Espoir FC and Vision FC which qualified from Group B in the regular season and Intare FC and Rutsiro FC which qualified from Group A. During their most recent meeting, Espoir FC beat Vision FC 1-0 victory during the second round of the regular season on February 18 at Rusizi Stadium. But it was Vision FC who prevailed in the first round when they beat Espoir FC 2-1 on November 4 at Mumena Stadium. Meanwhile, Intare FC will open the playoffs campaign against Rutsiro FC at Shyorongi Football pitch on May 22. The Ferwafa second division playoffs will adopt a round-robin format, with the initial round running from May 22 to May 29. Two teams that will secure the highest points will earn a promotion to the topflight league for the 2024/25 season, filling the vacancy left by relegated sides Etoile de l’Est and Sunrise FC. The fixture schedule released by the Rwanda FA indicate that Vision FC will host Rutsiro FC in match day two slated for May 26 which, on the same day, Espoir will host Intare. On the final day of the first round, Intare will host Vision while Rutsiro will host Espoir FC.
