Bugesera FC striker Elijah Ani has revealed that the local football governing body has contacted him over a possibility to play for Rwanda and confirmed that he is ready to feature for Amavubi. The Nigerian forward finished the just-concluded 2023/24 Primus National League campaign as the joint top scorer after he and countryman Victor Mbaoma fo APR are tied at 15 goals. Ani, who is yet to play for his home nation at any level, is being courted by Rwanda and contact has been made as the country looks for a prolific attacker ahead of the ongoing FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
