Tuesday Group C KCM Vs TP Mazembe 17:00 Rayon Sports Vs Atlabara 19:30 Rayon Sports new captain Eric Rutanga has asked his teammates to continue their good form when they take on South Sudan side Atlabara this afternoon. The Blues were in excellent form on Sunday after defeating DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in their opening Cecafa Kagame club championship at Kigali Stadium, Nyamirambo. Speaking to Times Sport, Rutanga said that he has never won the Kagame Cup and wants to add the trophy to his CV. He, however, admitted that hard work, determination and sacrifice are the major factors which will enable him and his teammates to maintain their hopes of winning the second Cecafa title, which the club has never won on home soil. “We know the pressure will be on us because all clubs coming to the tournament will be aiming to win the title and Rayon Sports are a big club, which have to win Cecafa so we are looking forward to do so,” Rutanga said “However, we are a strong side and believe it will not be easy for anyone to deny us. We are well prepared and ready to jostle any opponent.” he added Burundian forward Jules Ulimwengu scored the lone goal in the fourth minute to give the 1998 Cecafa winners a good start against 3-time CAF champions league winners TP Mazembe. “I am happy for the new chapter in my life as the captain of the big club. It’s going to be a difficult task but I’m confident of positive performances. Our target is to win the Kagame Cecafa Cup,” said the former APR left back. Rayon Sports lead Group A standings with three points while KCM and Atlabara have a point each. TP Mazembe lie bottom with no point. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
