The FERWAFA Second Division League playoffs are on the horizons, with four teams confirmed for the playoffs after which two teams will be promoted to the topflight league. ALSO READ: Espoir FC beat Ivoire Olympic to qualify for second division playoffs After the culmination of the regular season this weekend, Rutsiro FC and Intare FC from Group A, along with Group B leaders Vision FC and Espoir FC, emerged as the top contenders, earning their coveted spots in the 2023/24 playoffs for a shot at promotion. In Group A, Rutsiro secured qualification with 59 points, closely followed by Intare with 52 points from 25 games. In Group B, both Vision FC and Espoir FC finished in the top two with 62 points and 57 points respectively after 24 games. Espoir still have a game in hand against AS Muhanga but any result won’t change anything on the current standings. This season's playoffs will adopt a four-team mini-league which will be played in a round-robin format, with the top two teams in points securing promotion to the 2024/25 top-flight league. The local football governing body (FERWAFA) will hold a planning meeting with the participating teams on Thursday, May 16, before releasing the fixtures, dates, and logistics for the upcoming playoffs.
