The Association of Motorcyclists in Rwanda (ASSETAMORWA) has embarked on a campaign of renovating city roads and planting flowers alongside roads. Speaking to The New Times yesterday, the head of ASSETAMORWA Diedonné Nteziyaremye said that last year, they planted flowers along the 5- kilometre road stretching from what is commonly known as Mu Kanogo up to Prince House in Remera. “This earned us an appreciation cup from the Prime Minister Bernard Makuza for our role on maintaining the city’s cleanliness,” he said, encouraging all motorcycle operators to maintain this noble cause. Nteziyaremye added that they have embarked on planting more flowers along the highway from Remera to Kabuga, which stretches for 14 KM. Started in 1987 the association currently has 9,000 members, 30 percent of whom operate in Kigali City. Ends
