Huye-based Cycling Club for All (CCA) in partnership with Rwanda Cycling Federation has organised a talent detection race that takes place Saturday in Huye, the first of its kind in the district. The multi-category one-day race will also include a competition for elite riders from all local clubs where they will race in circuit laps around Huye town. According CCA president, Francois Karangwa, the competition is aimed at spotting new talents and entertaining the people of Huye with the beautiful sport ahead of the 2019 Rwanda Cycling Cup, which starts this month. “The race is a product of partnership between the club, the federation and Huye District, and hopefully, depending on how the first edition pans out, it will be an annual event,” Karangwa told Saturday Sport on Friday. By press time, local giants Benediction, Fly Cycling club, Les Amis Sportifs and Nyabihu were some of the teams that had already confirmed their participation. editor@newtimesrwanda.com
