Kigali’s Sharks Rugby Club breathed some life into their title aspirations this year after an impressive 26-0 win over a rusty Puma side in a trail game played last Sunday in Kamonyi. Sharks, who are said to have revamped their side, put four tries past Puma’s defense thanks in part to Sharks center Tharcisse Kamanda who weighed in with two tries. The result gave the club some hope that they can improve on last year’s show where they finished sixth in the eight-club league. “The result is a good morale booster for us because we want to do better this year,” the club president Janvier Ugeziwe said. This year’s national rugby league gets underway next month. Earlier in the day, seven secondary schools contested in the inaugural Kamonyi women 7s tournament. Groupe scolaire Remera Rukoma silenced APPEC-Remera Rukoma 15-0 in the final to lift the trophy. Rwanda Rugby Federation (RRF) organized the tournament. Groupe scolaire Indangabarezi, Lycée de Nyanza, Lycée de Ruhango, and Shyogwe are some of the other schools who took part in the tournament. Ends
