Children speak out on child soldiers

My name is Bera Uwamahoro, a pupil at Camp Kigali Primary School. I am 11 years old in P.4. I feel sorry for those children who are forced to fight. This is not good and I do not like the bad attitude of these groups which make children fight. Kenza Uwineza is my name and I study at E.P.A.K Primary School. I am 10 years old in P.5. When I grow-up, I want to become a policewoman so that I can protect the people in my area. I will ensure that there is law and order and children live in peace. My name is Gutave Shyaka of Sante Famille. I am 10 years old in P.5. I enjoy seeing our army on television because I know they are the ones who protect our country. Also, children who are captured by bad groups should be protected because they are in danger. I am David Shema, of Sante Famille. I am nine years old in P.3. Forcing children to do what they are not ready to do is a habit that I do not like. This is because I feel they are violating children’s rights. As children we have the right to be freely taken care of. My name is Alex Iradukunda. I would like to become a politician when I grow up. This will help me to be a good leader for my country and make sure that all our children are safe. I am Henry Ingabire and I am 10 years old. I study at Kigali Harvest Primary School in P.3. I feel bad when our fellow children are made to fight at a young age. This is because they are missing school yet education is what will make children successful in life. Ends
