THE national volleyball league playoffs finals for men have been rescheduled to May 4, Rwanda Volleyball Federation executive secretary Christian Hatungimana has confirmed. The games were initially slated for April 27. Hatumimana said the decision for postponement was taken because clubs will be having some of their key players on national duty at the continent’s biggest beach volleyball tournament due April 21 through April 29 in Nigeria. “It is not only the men’s games that will be affected, even in women, the national league will resume next month,” he said. Gisagara will play against Rwanda Energy Group in the best of five finals – starting on May 4. REG advanced to the finals after making light work of IPRC-East in the best-of-three semi-finals, while Gisagara also brushed aside FideleNyirimana’s UTB in two games in the other last four tie. Meanwhile, the national beach volleyball teams (men and women) are undergoing training in Rubavu for five days before jetting off to Nigeria for the continental showpiece on April 20.
