Today U18 Burundi Vs Rwanda 14:15 U20 Tanzania Vs Rwanda 15:30 The national Under-18 and Under-U20 women’s handball teams are in Zanzibar, Tanzania where they are representing the country at the inaugural Africa Zone V Junior Handball Tournament. The week-long regional competition kicks-off today and will run through Sunday. A total of eight countries; Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Uganda and hosts Tanzania are taking part in the tournament. The junior U20 competition is for players born in 2000 or younger, while the U18 tourney is for players born in 2002 or younger. The winners of the U20 junior competition will automatically secure ticket to the 2019 IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental Championship, which has been upgraded to a qualification event for the 2020 IHF Women’s Junior World Championship to be staged in Romania. Medard Mudaherana the national youth handball coach who is confident they will perform well said the mission is to win, since the always play better against Zone V opponents. He explained that the girls have been together for quite some time let it be in academy and schools besides they feature in the inter-school and the national championship. According to the U20 team head coach, Medard Mudaheranwa, Uganda and Kenya are the teams to watch for in Zanzibar, but he is confident of his youthful side to shine.
