The second leg of the ITF Men’s Futures Circuit which will be held in Kigali from February 15-18 will cost about $6000 (approx. Frw3.36 millions). The Rwanda Tennis Federation (RTF) Technical Director, Thierry Ntwali confirmed the development yesterday saying that the Kigali leg which will be held at Umubano hotel will attract participants from East Africa as well as Southern Africa. “Over three millions francs is required to facilitate the event,” Ntwali said. Ntwali further added that they are waiting confirmation from foreign players who will battle for the cash prize which has been staked at $4500 by the local tennis federation. Players from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe are expected to lead the quest for the prize money circuit in Kigali. Meanwhile, Jean Claude Gasigwa, Olivier Nkunda and Dieudonne Habiyambere are taking part in the prize money circuit which is going in Bujumbura. The trio will then switch attention to the Kigali leg. The three-leg circuit which will climax in Kampala has attracted a big entry from the East African region. The Kigali leg will be sponsored by the Rwanda tennis Federation in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Culture. Rwanda’s top seed Gasigwa won the last edition of the prize money circuit which was held in Kigali. Ends
