U.S-based Rwandan singer The Ben over the weekend released the audio of his latest song ‘Naremeye’ but that is not the story – the crooner went ahead to release a lyric video on YouTube in which he incorporated videos of fans and fellow celebrities singing the love song. The RnB singer, real name Benjamin Mugisha, announced the song on Friday and released it on Saturday with the lyric video racking up over 50, 000 views in a day and already promising to be a hit like many of his other songs. Among those appearing in the song is musicians Nirere Shanel, Yvan Buravan, U.S-based singers Emmy, Priscillah and Megaly Pearl. Others include renowned Rwandan MCs Ally Soudy and Ange Umulisa, socialite and businesswoman Kate Bashabe and former Miss Rwanda Aurore Mutesi, among others. Produced by U.S-based Rwandan producer Lick Lick, ‘Naremeye’ came on the heels of another of The Ben’s hit song ‘Fine Girl’ which he outed in December last year. ‘Fine Girl’ was produced by Kriz Beats, one of the best producers on the continent. It is not yet clear whether he will release a video or simply let the lyric video serve the purpose but one thing for sure is, the ‘Habibi’ singer knows how to keep his fans captivated. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
