Mukura Victory Sports coach Christian Haringingo has tasked his players to maintain their form when the Azam Rwanda premier league returns this week. The Southern province based side takes on Sunrise FC on Sunday at Huye Stadium knowing that a win for them coupled with an APR loss takes them to the summit of the Azam Rwanda Premier League. Haringingo also hinted that the league break has helped his players recover from the fatigue of playing many matches in the league and the CAF Confederation Cup. “As the league returns, we need to make sure we are fresh and ready to maintain our rhythm, we need to win many games and keep our eyes on the top of the table challenge,” Haringingo said. Mukura finished the first round in second place after losing one, drawing four and winning ten, which represents the club’s best start in a new season in over two decades. The black-and-yellow outfit is second on the league table with 34 points, one behind leaders APR. League action returns on February, 18 with Amagaju hosting APR at Nyagisenyi grounds, Gicumbi will be away to Espoir in Rusizi while Musanze hosts AS Kigali at Ubworoherane Stadium. On February 19, Sunrise will host Mukura VS in Nyagatare, Police take on AS Muhanga at Kicukiro, Rayon Sports host Etincelles at Kigali Stadium while Marines will be away to Bugesera in Nyamata. On February 20, SC Kiyovu will host Kirehe at Mumena stadium in the lone game of the day. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
