The 2019 season of the Mindsky National Rugby League will get underway on March 2, Times Sport has learned. The championship will be preceded by a sevens rugby preseason tournament, to start on February 23, in order to help league teams in their final preparations, and embracing the competition mood after five months out of action. In the meantime, Rwanda Rugby Federation (RRF) has urged teams to register their players early to avoid last minute rush to secure licenses. “All clubs have to register their players ahead of the season,” warned Livingstone Muhire, the chief administrator of the domestic rugby body. He further revealed that this year will be action-packed with several new competitions, starting from the youth level in secondary schools. Kigali Sharks are the reigning league champions. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
