Rwanda, my motherland

Long time ago, Rwanda was once a very large kingdom. However, after the coming of colonialists, the kingdom was demarcated. With these demarcations, some parts in the north, south, west and east were cut off and thus, the kingdom became small. Today, Rwanda is a small beautiful country situated in the central part of Africa. It is also known as a land of a thousand hills. It has some of the best tourist attractions in the world. Some of them include the wonderful green hills, mountains, gorillas, lakes, rivers and strong culture. The country recently joined the East African Community (EAC) estimated to be having 120 people. The countries which form the EAC include Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Being part of the EAC has many advantages. Some of them include a larger market for the goods and services produced in Rwanda and free movement of people. Even though Rwanda has had very many difficulties towards its development, like the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi’s, I am proud to be a Rwandan. Rwanda, my motherland! I am proud of you and I will never shy away from identifying myself with my motherland. God bless my motherland, its entire people and our leaders. Ends
