It was the show that preceded all gospel musical events of 2019, as hundreds of revellers filled up Kigali Serena Hotel’s Big Tent to grace the ‘Himbaza Live Concert’ on Sunday, January 6. The event, that ushered gospel music fans into the New Year, was organised by True Promises Ministries. Despite the heavy downpour that started at around 3pm, the show was successful both in performance and attendance, and it attracted quite a number of government officials and church leaders. First on stage was promising female gospel artiste, Gisele Precious, who entertained fans with some of her songs, before Gospel group New Melody , could make it next. Other performers include Sam Rwibasira, Arsene Tuyi, and Alarm Ministries. True Promises Ministries was eventually welcomed on the stage at 6pm amid loud cheers. They brought revellers to their feet as they performed a total of 18 popular songs. Some of their hit songs performed include My Lord Jehovah, No longer a Slave, Wadushyize Ahakwiriye andMana Yacu, among others. During his sermon, evangelist James Huduma of Foursquare Gospel church preached about repentance. Bonnke Mbonigaba, True Promises Ministries’ legal representative, appreciated everyone that contributed to the event before announcing the next event, scheduled to take place in August. The show ended at 9pm. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
