Sunday Marines 1-1 Mukura APR 2-1 AS Muhanga Saturday Gicumbi 1-0 Etincelles AS Kigali 3-2 Espoir Musanze 1-2 Rayon Sports Kirehe 1-1 Sunrise Leaders APR bounced back from their defeat to Mukura Victory Sports to beat Muhanga 2-1 over the weekend and head coach Jimmy Mulisa has appealed to the team to build on their latest win to put together a good run. Ernest Sugira and Jean Baptiste ‘Migi’ Mugiraneza scored for Mulisa’s side while Prince Buregeya netted an own goal to give AS Muhanga consolation. “After bad games against Gicumbi and Mukura, we wanted to play a good game. I thought we deserved the win,” said the former APR and Amavubi forward. Sugira opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Sugira found the net for the first time since 2017 when he was still playing for DR Congo’s AS Vita Club. This was the forward’s second appearance after returning from a 14-month injury layoff. “We wanted to win and this result will give us going forward,” Mulisa said. “We continued to push forward and to create chances so we can be happy that we got three points.” The win came after played goalless draw against Gicumbi and a 1-0 loss to Mukura 1-0. Francis Haringingo’s Mukura drew 1-1 against Marines on Matchday 13 of the 2018/19 Azam Rwanda Premier League season. Saleh Nyirinkindi scored for hosts Marines before Onesme Twizerimana netted for Mukura in 90+3 minute. APR lead the table standings with 29 points, three ahead of the second place Mukura VS who have three games in hand. Rayon Sports are in third place with 25 points, while SC Kiyovu and Police are fifth and sixth with 20 points. On Saturday, Rayon Sports defeated Musanze 2-1, Gicumbi got their third win of the season after beating Etincelles 1-0, AS Kigali overcame Espoir 3-2, while Kirehe drew 1-1 against Sunrise. Gicumbi moved from the relegation zone with one point ahead of Musanze and Kirehe who have 11 points while Amagaju are bottom with five points.
