Local comedian and radio personality Arthur Nkusi is back with what he first introduced on the local comedy scene a few years ago – his one-man show. The show, dubbed Seka na Arthur (laugh with Arthur), is scheduled for Sunday, January 6, at Kigali Convention Centre. Unlike Nkusi’s previous comedy shows, however, tomorrow’s show has been organised more like a private party. Entrance will be strictly through online registration, and by invitation. There will be no sale of physical tickets at the venue. Organisers are targeting 700 revellers, 500 of whom have already purchased their tickets online. And online ticket sales closed on Monday after organizers reached the set target. The remaining 200 slots will be covered through personal invites. Nkusi will be the only comedy act on stage, and his one hour performance will be backed up by a cameo saxophone performance by an undisclosed local saxophonist. At the show, the comedian will also launch Tembagara (Kinyarwanda for ‘laugh out loud’). “Tembagara is a new comedy platform that specialises in online comedy content as a way of further reaching out to my fans from far and wide. Whenever I move around, I see most things differently and end up laughing to myself, so it’s time to share this laughter with other people.” “Seka na Arthur one-man show is a way of giving back as Arthur Nation (an online media company he owns). It is also a way for me as a comedian to do something for my fans as the New Year begins.” It will be the fourth one-man show that Nkusi has held since 2013. editorial@newtimes.co.rw.
