Gasogi United came from behind to beat SEC Academy 2-1 on Saturday as they jumped to second position in Group A of the 2018-19 Second Division Football League. Forward Abouba Nsengimana put ahead SEC in the 15th minute as both sides played a dull first-half, which ended with the Kicukiro-based side leading 1-0 at Kicukiro Stadium. Returning for the final 45 minutes, Gasogi looked sharper and more determined as Noah Gashugi and skipper Marc Nkubana scored in a space of only four minutes to hand Gasosi the hard-fought victory to two points to within leaders ASPOR. Gashugi scored in the 56th minute to bring the score to 1-1 before Nkubana netted the winning goal four minutes later. Elsewhere in Group A, Aspor edged former Azam Rwanda Premier League side La Jeunesse 2-1 to stretch their perfect start to a three-game winning run while Sorwathe and Vision played out a 1-all draw. After three match rounds, Aspor are top of the log with a maximum nine points, two ahead of second-placed Gasogi United. Intare, who thumped Interforce 3-0, top Group B with 9 points, and are followed by Pepiniere – who beat Hope FC 2-1 – with seven points. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
