Sunday Rayon Vs Amagaju 15:30 Police Vs Bugesera 15:30 RAYON Sports and Police will be looking for crucial victories against Amagaju and Bugesera, respectively, on Sunday as they seek to close gap on table leaders APR who dropped two points in a goalless draw against Gicumbi on Friday. Police host Bugesera at Kicukiro Stadium while Rayon Sports will be up against strugglers Amagaju at Kigali Stadium. Both games will get underway at 3:30pm. A win for second-placed Police will lift them to three points within of APR while a seventh league win would see Rayon Sports up to 22 points, four adrift of champions APR. Ahead of Sunday’s match-day 12 encounters, Police – with 20 points – lead fourth-placed Rayon by one solitary point. “We have to be consistent and give our best in every match, because, it’s such undermined games that determine the race. Bugesera is a very tricky team, we need to be ready,” said Albert Joel Mphande, the Police FC head coach. The law enforcers have won six, drawn twice and lost two games but Mphande believes his boys have learned a lesson from the four games they failed to win. In a separate interview, Rayon Sports coach Roberto Oliveira told Sunday Sport that the match (against Amagaju) is a must-win if his side is to stay in the title race. “It is a must win game for us as we try to get back to our winning ways – and narrow the gap to the top. We have had some inconsistent runs lately but we have put that behind us and focus on the task at hand right now,” said the Brazilian tactician. Center-back Abdul Rwatubyaye and striker Micheal Sarpong, both recovering from illness, are likely to start on the bench after missing most of the club’s training sessions this week. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
