Malawian striker Marry Chavinda scored a brace as Rayon Sports secured a 2-0 victory over AS Kigali WFC in the Women’s Peace Cup, setting up a final clash with Indahangarwa. However, the strategy proved ineffective as Blues’ relentless attack led to Chavinda’s opener in the 15th minute, to level the score 1-1 on aggregate. Buoyed by their first-half performance, Rayon Sports came into the second half with renewed vigor, pressing high and dictating the pace of play. Their persistence paid off swiftly as Chavinda netted her second goal of the match in the 47th minute to double Rayon’s lead. With their back against the wall, AS Kigali pushed for an away goal to salvage their qualification hopes, but Rayon's defence, anchored by Andersene Uwase, held firm against the visitors’ attack. Rayon progressed to the final after beating AS Kigali 2-1 on aggregate. They will face Indahangarwa who eliminated Fatima WFC in another semifinal. Illuminée Nzayituriki scored the lone goal in the 65th minute as Fatima beat Indahangarwa WFC 1-0 in the second leg. The win was, however, not enough as Fatima fell short of overturning a two-goal deficit in the first leg.
