Along with second-placed Mukura, champions APR are the only unbeaten side into the 2018-19 campaign, having won seven and drawn once in their first eight games. Byiringiro, 19, scored his third goal of the season after dribbling through a group of SC Kiyovu defenders from the right flank before unleashing a powerful strike past helpless Djihad Nzeyurwanda. The win moved Jimmy Mulisa’s side to the top with 22 points, three clear of second-placed Mukura who have played one game less. In another match played on Thursday, AS Muhanga and Bugesera played out a 1-1 draw at Muhanga Stadium. Adophe Hakundukize scored for Muhanga while Steve Nzigamasabo netted the equalizer for the visitors.
