Saturday El Hilah 0-0 Mukura Mukura Victory Sports head coach Christian Francis Haringingo has said his side has an opportunity to eliminate Sudan’s El Hilal El Obeid and progress to the next round after the two sides played out a goalless draw in Sudan in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday. The two sides are set to play the second leg in Huye on Saturday. “It is very frustrating that we did not score an away goal as we had a chance to,” he said. “We know that in Huye we have to score goals but I also know that like the away game this will be hard than we probably think.” Mukura created some open chances but were wasteful. Striker Frank Lomami hit the crossbar while Hassan Ciza and Christophe Ndayishimiye all had an opportunity to score but failed to put the ball in the back of the net. “Football is an unpredictable game but we need to forget what happened in the first leg and prepare for the return leg because we want to have a very good game in Huye. There is no doubt we are in a good situation of reaching in next stage,” he said. Mukura secured a slot in the round of 32 after beating South Africa’s Free State Stars 1-0 in the return-leg clash of the preliminary. They returned to the competition after an 18-year hiatus, the first time since 2000 when they got eliminated from the first round by Ethiopia’s Awassa City 2-1 on aggregate score. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
