Sunday Gor Mahia 3-1 Lobi Stars Amavubi forward Jacques Tuyisenge is a happy man after returning from injury to help Gor Mahia to beat Nigeria’s Lobi Stars 3-1 in the first leg of the first round of CAF Champions league at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday. Tuyisenge gave Hassan Oktay’s men a perfect start to the fixture with an exquisite seventh minute strike, which flew past hapless goalkeeper Egbe Ospina, before Samuel Onyango doubled the lead in the 21st minute after the defenders failed to clear Tuyisenge’s cut back. Speaking to Times Sport, Jacques Tuyisenge said he was thankful to be returning from injury with goals and expressed gratitude to his teammates. “It’s not yet over because we still have the second game to play but our target is to reach the group stages and hopefully go beyond that as well” said the former Police FC forward. The 27-year-old sustained an injury on his left foot last month during Rwanda’s 2-2 draw against Central African Republic (CAR) in the qualifiers of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
