Gisagara Volleyball Club coach Dominique Ntawangundi has urged his players to show their ability to bounce back from disappointing results if they are to successful defend their league title this season. The champions’ spotless strong to the 2018-19 National Volleyball League season was halted by a defeat at the hands of UTB last Saturday at Amahoro Stadium. Ntawangundi has challenged his players to play at their strengths as they eye two crucial victories when they host former champions APR and lowly IPRC-West at Gisagara Gymnasium on Saturday. “We are only halfway through the season, the title chase is still wide open. However, we have to be careful when we host APR and IPRC-West on Saturday – we can’t make the same mistakes that cost us the UTB game,” Ntawangundi told Times Sport on Wednesday. Ahead of the weekend action, UTB – who have played six games – lead the table with 14 points, five ahead of third-placed Gisagara who have played two games less. Rwanda Energy Group (REG) are in second place with 9 points and two games in hand. They will be up against struggling Kirehe and IPRC- East at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday.
