Rwanda’s representatives in the 2024 edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), APR Basketball Club, have signed two NBA G-League players ahead of the competition. The Sahara Conference, where APR was placed, will take place from May 4-12 in Dakar, Senegal. In the conference, APR will be rubbing shoulders with clubs including US Monastir (Tunisia), Rivers Hoopers (Nigeria), and AS Douanes (Senegal). ALSO READ: BAL 2024: A look at APR’s Sahara Conference opponents The new players that APR has added are Abdullah Ahmed, an Egyptian center who plays for the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G-League, and Obadiah Noel, an American shooting guard who plays for the same team. Ahmed, 21, is a six foot eleven center who is expected to bolster APR’s prowess in the paint, offensively and defensively. As for Noel, 24, he is a high scoring guard, who during his college basketball career with UMass Lowell River Hawks men's basketball, became the second player to surpass 1,500 points during the Division 1 era.
