After blessing Rwanda’s music listeners with two bangers, 'Melanin' and 'I Want You', Kabaka Kevin, a new Afro-fusion kid on the block, has dropped another track dubbed ‘Nothing like Me’ which is already topping local charts and heading to the mainstream. Composed and sung by Kabaka, real name Kevin Kabaka Giraneza, the track emphasizes on relationship snags caused by cheating and bad communication which completely breaks feelings and ends bonds that are meant to last. ALSO READ: Meet Kabaka, a new youngster with ambitions to take his sound global The artiste used English and Kinyarwanda to cater for the locals who speak Kinyarwanda, especially the youth who felt left out on his previous tracks, as well as global music consumers, with a purpose of debuting his sound on the international arena. Speaking to The New Times, the youngster expressed that the track has already garnered positive reception in Rwanda and aims to expand its reach on the whole continent and beyond. “I’m targeting different areas of the world starting from home because it’s the people at home who give us the vibe to keep pushing. That’s why the track is composed and sung in two languages,” the artiste explained. Regarding collaborations, Kabaka shared that he is currently focused on solo projects to strengthen his brand in the music industry and build connections with patrons of the industry after. His future plans, he said, involves blessing his fans with another tune in summer, before working on bigger projects like an EP or album among others. Kabaka is a Kigali born and bred artist who recorded his first song titled 'I Want You' under Infoatassi record label in August 2023. The record label signed him in August 2023 and he is still under their management as he continues to deliver quality music. In his recent interview with The New Times, Kabaka said he draws inspiration mainly from meditation and the life around him, which pushed him to take up the art of music creation. According to him, 2024 is a breakthrough year for his music career where he is focusing on making big tracks and performing in big shows across the country.
