RUCHIR Khole scored a century against Zonic Cricket Club in the men’s second division league on Sunday to propel Kutchi Tigers to the final. Kutchi Tigers won the toss to bat first at Gahanga Cricket Oval as they declared on 369/10 in 49.5 overs, with Khole’s exemplary 134 runs off 99 balls winning him the man of the match award. Teammate Orchide Tuyisenge contributed 36 runs to the victory. While chasing, Zonic Cricket who needed 370 runs to win, fell short by 171 as they only managed 198 runs all out. Kutchi Tigers are top of the table with a maximum 20 points after winning all their five games, 8 ahead of second-placed Zonic Cricket who have played one game less. Should Zonic beat Vikings Cricket Club on Sunday, they will set another date to meet Kutchi Tigers in the final next month. In another game on Sunday, Sorwathe defeated Vikings by 55 runs. Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Sorwathe put on 124/10 in 35.2 overs. In response, Vikings only managed 69 runs in 18.4 overs.
