Sunday Finals Men The Winners 1-1 APR (shootout 5-4) Women VJN 2-0 Shwemu The Winners Handball Club and Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle clinched beach handball titles in the men and women categories, respectively, over the weekend in Rubavu. The Winners won this year’s beach handball after defeating APR 5-4 in shootouts in the final game while in the women category Rubavu-based Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle won the title after beating Shwemu 2-0 on the final. Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle A won the title in the boys and girls junior categories, after beating Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle B 2-0 in the finals. In the veterans’ category, Abambarangwe won the title after winning 5-4 in shootouts, having played out a one-all against the Kazi ni Kazi. Last year, Police won the title in the men’s senior category after edging The Winners 2-0 in the final. The two-day tournament, sponsored by Sulfo Rwanda, attracted a total of 22 teams across the country competing in senior, junior and veteran categories, in both genders. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
