National Volleyball league side University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) have unveiled their squad ahead of the 2019 season, which is scheduled to start in November 10. Last season, UTB volleyball finished in third place in the league behind Gisagara and Rwanda Energy Group. UTB head coach Fidele Nyirimana said, “We have finished signing new players and the team are looking forward to the next season.” “We are in preparations for the pre-season later this week, which will help us identify which other areas to improve just before the season,” Nyirimana added. Meanwhile, former REG captain Aimable Mutiyimana is the new captain of the men’s team while and Yvette Igihozo, who joined from APR, is the captain of the women side. Other new signings include Aimable Mutuyimana (from REG), Placide Madison Sibomana (from Gisagara), as well as Ivan Nsabimana Mahoro and Samuel Niyogisubizo, from Kirehe. Nyirimana has 16 players in total ahead of the next season. UTB Women who will be featuring in league for the first time also signed new players such as Belise Dusabe, Louise Muhoza, Yvette Igihozo and Benitha Mukandayisenga. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
