Dear Editor, Last Saturday, I went shopping at one of our finest supermarkets in town (Nakumatt) but got so disappointed after getting embarrassed without a genuine reason. It so happens that I bought and paid for everything I had in my trolley. Suddenly as I walked out, the supermarket’s so called security alarm started making noise. I was then forced to go back to the Nakumatt’s security check point, where I was forced to remove everything that I had in my bag. As the security personnel checked my handbag, they asked all sorts of embarrassing questions like “where are the things that you have not paid for?” I was extremely embarrassed as they analysed my perfume and other stuff. After a long period of wasting time, they actually concluded that a certain movie I had carried in my bag needed to be scanned. Well, they did exactly that and gave back my bag. This is so bad. In fact, my advice to the Nakumatt management is to scan customer’s property as they enter the supermarket instead of forcing us to unpack our personal details simply because we probably borrowed a movie somewhere. Besides, such incidents make customers uncomfortable so they could easily lose many. KIMISAGARA
