Seruka Youth Cup started on October 13 at Kicukiro Stadium and will be staged in the every corner of the country as a way of developing young talent. The youth football league, organised by Seruka Holding, is part of a broader effort to encourage more children – both boys and girls – to play football and the competition will attract children aged between four and 16 years. According to the Seruka founder and managing director, Hubert Hategekimana, some 200 children are expected to partake in the tournament. The competitions will be held monthly, from one district to another. Hategekimana said the aim is to detect and prepare the young generation for a bright future in the sport. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
