The Unimoni Cricket league continues this weekend with five games on the cards as hopefuls Telugu Royals face Indorwa seeking to unseat Challengers at the summit. In men’s Division 1 pool, second-placed Telugu take on Indorwa at Gahanga Cricket Oval on Sunday morning, in what is regarded as the game of the weekend. Should the former beat Indorwa, they will rise to the top of the table standings with 12 points. Going into the weekend action, Challengers and Telugu are joint top with eight points. On the other hand, strugglers Indorwa will be facing Telugu well aware that a loss would be their fourth in a row, and are expected to give it their ‘A Game’ in a bid to stun former champions. After three match rounds, they are at the bottom without a single point. In men’s 2 Division, Spartans CC will dare Kutchi Tigers at Kicukiro grounds, also on Sunday. Spartans are third with one victory out of 3 games while Kutchi are second, behind in-form Zonic Cricket Club, who have won all their three games. In women’s Division 1, She-Guards will have to maneuver past White Clouds at Gahanga this morning, if they are to earn points that will move them from them bottom of the group. Out of three games they have played so far, the Guards have lost two and won one. Elsewhere, Queens Victory battle Phoenix in women’s Division 2 category at Kicukiro, in a clash of egos with both sides having 4 points apiece ahead of today’s meeting. The two have won one game and lost one each. Table leaders Sorwathe entertain bottom side Ndera Girls in another Division 2 game. While the latter are yet to record a victory, Sorwathe have won all their last three games. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
