Forward Eric Tuyishime has completed his surprise move to Rayon Sports from APR FC. The 20-year-old penned a two-year contract with the Blues on Wednesday. Tuyishime grew up in the APR academy before being promoted to the first team in 2016. However, he had since been an unused substitute for most of the time in the league and other domestic competitions, only getting playing time when injuries ravaged senior players. Last month, along with former teammate Saleh Nyirinkindi, APR decided to loan Tuyishime to Marines FC for next season. However, the latter turned down the loan move to the Rubavu-based side and rather pushed for a move to Rayon Sports. It is reported that he will be earning Rwf350,000 in a monthly salary at Rayon. While speaking to Times Sport in an exclusive interview yesterday, a visibly beaming Tuyishime said, “I am very happy for the new challenge and chapter in my career, it had been a long two years at APR. I am ready to work hard and get more playing time with my new team.” Tuyishime joins Rayon Sports just days after this year’s Caf Confederation Cup quarter-finalists edged APR 1-0 to lift the 2018 Agaciro Development Fund tourney title at Amahoro National Stadium. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
