Sega El, a musician based in Réunion Island, is one of the celebrities that joined Rwandans and friends of Rwanda in commemorating the Genocide against the Tutsis for the 30th time. Let us pray for peace, healing, unity and reconciliation,” she said. Running under the theme ‘Remember-Unite-Renew’, the commemoration is a moment to pay tribute to more than 1,000,000 lives lost during the Genocide and reflect on the country’s transformational journey in the past 30 years. The artiste is one of many who competed in the first Trace Awards held in Kigali in October 2023, and has since fell in love with the country and its culture. Sega EL is popular for songs like 'Trakass Pa pu Moin', which was nominated for the 'Best Artist Indian Ocean' category at the Trace Awards.
