Reader discretion advised. Guys, you may find this boring. Ladies, let’s talk about Kylie Jenner’s Bag Collection. Have you seen it? Apparently, it’s worth over $2 Million. That is crazy. I don’t have anything against the 21 year old and at the end of the day, it’s her money and she can spend it however she wants but personally, I know I would not spend even $5,000 on Handbags. People always say that when one’s broke, they swear to never be extravagant only to do the opposite when their fortunes change. Realistically, I don’t think I’ll ever be that rich and besides, I just have so many priorities and would never spend that much on bags alone. Even if I had everything I’ve ever wanted and could afford as many bags as Kylie, I don’t think I’d splurge. Being broke for so long has taught me to be stingy and excuse my repetition but there’s no way I’d “waste” that much money. Currently, I have 7 bags to my name. Three for work, two party bags, one travel bag and an all-purpose bag. That’s it. I buy one bag at a time, and there usually has to be a good reason. Visible scratches, frayed straps and edges or damaged zippers. I don’t just buy bags because I can. That’s the impression I got from Kylie showing off her collection. She must have at least 100 bags and I noticed that several of them looked pretty much the same. There’s a Video doing the rounds and I’m sure many of you have seen it. I wonder if she gets to carry or use all her bags. I doubt it. It’s nice to have options but I’m not even sure I want that many options. I guess it’s like having your favourite shoes or pants in every colour. Speaking of which, I also noticed that several of her bags are various Shades of Pink, Green and Blue. When I’m buying a bag, I usually go for Black or Brown. Basic, I know but if you’re familiar with the struggle, you know you have to think about functionality and practicality. Typical 9-5 working girls are probably not going to go for Sky Blue or Bright Pink Bags. My Black Party clutch goes with everything and I don’t have to worry about not being able to pull it off with certain outfits. Kylie mentioned that some of her bags are gifts from her Mum Kris Jenner and her famous Kardashian Sisters. She’s a Brand Ambassador too and must have gotten several at a bargain or even free in exchange for the endorsement. Some people are just lucky. I do wonder though if some Designer Brands inflate costs simply because they know celebrities can afford the staggering prices. Sadly, I know there are girls out there probably trying to match her collection! Word of advice? Don’t blow your tuition or savings!
