Dear Editor,Much as Rwanda is known for her ambitious speed at rebuilding her economy, our small country is also becoming famous for its fast growing population rates. For a long time now, government has continuously emphasised the need for Rwandans to curb the rising numbers but up to date many people do not even know why it is necessary. Minister James Musoni has emphasised many times that our development strategies necessitate a wide range of resources. How then shall we increase investments if there is no land? If we are to achieve all these development goals, then the issue of curbing high population growth rates should start with every individual. Each weekend we see hundreds of couples getting married but it is necessary that every couple plans to at least have a maximum of two children although one would be even better. No one wants to be forced to live in a different country as a result of restricted resources. We should plan accordingly starting today. NYAMAGABE
